Stronger Than Strong

There are many animals out there that claim to be among the strongest, but which is truly the strongest of them all. In this article, we look at the strength of an animal compared to its body weight.

The strongest animal that lives in the mountains, is none other than the grizzly bear. They are able to lift their own body weight. This, of course, puts them at the top of the food chain in their habitat.

One of the most impressive animals when it comes to strength is the tiger. It has been known that a tiger can drag and carry something (usually a carcass) twice its own body weight over a wall or fence 10 feet in height.

Another one of the great powerful creatures is the gorilla. It has been known for some species to be able to lift 4600 pounds, which is 10 times it's own weight.

The second strongest animal, is also the largest land mammal, the elephant. They can weigh around 1,200 pounds, but can carry up to 20,000 pounds with ease. They are still used today in Africa and across most of Asia for helping with the construction of buildings because they can navigate rough terrain much easier than vehicles.

These are all very impressive strengths, but do not compare to the strongest of them all, the Rhinoceros Beetle. This funny looking little creature has armor plated head and body, grows up to 6 centimetres in length and can lift a staggering 850 times its own body weight.
